Clint Dempsey Returns to U.S. Men’s National Team with Hat Trick

Dempsey made a triumphant return to the game on Friday as he scored three goals for the U.S. Men’s National Team against Honduras. The 32-year-old recorded his second career hat trick during the match, which added to the eventual score of 6-0 against Honduras in the World Cup Qualifying game.

Dempsey commented after the match: “You don’t know how things are going to work, if you’re going to come back for Seattle or if you’re going to do well enough to get called back for the U.S. There’s moments where you’re sitting at home and you’re praying that things will work out. I’m just blessed that I can keep going. It’s what I love to do and we’ll see what’s left.”

In addition to Dempsey’s hat trick, Sebastian Lletget scored a goal for the U.S. Men’s National Team, while Jozy Altidore and Alejandro Bedoya were each credited with an assist.
