DeAndre Yedlin joins Sunderland AFC on season long loan
Sunderland AFC have completed the signing of defender DeAndre Yedlin on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur.
Reacting to his move to Sunderland, Yedlin said: “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to play for a club with such great history.
“I’ve heard fantastic things about Sunderland and the supporters from Claudio Reyna and Jozy Altidore. Claudio speaks very highly of Dick Advocaat from his time at Rangers.”
The defender began his career with Seattle Sounders, becoming the first player to progress from their academy to the MLS, going on to feature for the MLS All-Star team for two years.
The defender then moved to the England with Tottenham Hotspur at the start of 2015, making his top flight debut in the Barclays Premier League game against Aston Villa in April.
He won his first international cap for the US in 2013 at just 20 years old and is currently part of Jurgen Klinsmann’s national squad for games against Peru and Brazil later this week.
