Goalkeeper Joe Bendik Signs Three-Year Contract Extension with Orlando City SC

‘Players’ Player of the Year’ 2016 fan favourite Bendik was acquired by Orlando City from Toronto FC at the end of 2015; playing a career season for the team before signing the extension. As part of Orlando City, the 27-year-old goalkeeper won MLS Save of the Week 11 times and was awarded ‘Save of the Year’ honours thanks to his excellent playing against Sporting Kansas City (15th May), achieving back-to-back stops.

The Lions’ General Manager, Niki Budalic, said of the contract extension: “We’re excited to be able to sign Joe for three more years. Joe was among our best players last season and will be a big part of our future. He has been an outstanding professional and earned this extension.”

Bendik is under contract with Orlando City throughout the 2019 MLS season: from 2017 through 2019.
