Kem Cetinay

news

Making the public laugh with his infectious humour, palpable charm and sensitivity, Kem Cetinay became the winner of 2017’s hottest TV phenomenon ‘Love Island’.

A cheeky chap from Essex, Kem captivated the nation and developed an unbreakable bromance with Chris Hughes. Off the back of their success on Love Island, Chris and Kem went on to star in their own hit ITV2 spin off show Straight Outta Love Island, which followed their friendship and joint passions for grime music. They produced a track ‘Little Bit Leave It’ while filming for the show. The track went straight into the iTunes chart at number one and was the highest week-one chart position for a debut artist of the year.

His likability has led Kem to land a number of high-profile roles, including reaching the semi-finals of Dancing on Ice in 2018, hosting the NTA’s red carpet, co-hosting the official ‘Love Island’ Podcast in the summer of 2018 and starring in Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted for ‘Stand Up to Cancer’.

Chris and Kem continue to connect with their highly engaged audience, leading to ITV2 commissioning their own entertainment game show You vs Chris and Kem, which aired in July 2018 and has been recommissioned to air again in early 2019.

Kem is passionate about barbering and has launched a hit online series Kem Cuts, on which he gives expert trims to some of the country’s most popular TV stars, including Philip Schofield, Who Dare’s Win’s Ant Middleton and Joel Dommett.

As an open book, he has been honest about his history of suffering with anxiety and, through his work with Childline, he is proud to be named their first Mental Health Campaigner, working closely with the young people they support. He plans to continue opening up the conversation around mental health.
