Ugo Monye has quickly become one of the UK’s favourite sports broadcasters.
A Londoner born and bred, Ugo rose to public attention during a stellar 15-year professional rugby career that saw him winning a league title with Harlequins and playing for England, culminating in him representing the British and Irish Lions.
After retiring from the game in 2015, Ugo’s fun and natural on-screen personality was quickly spotted and he was soon made a permanent member of BT Sport’s Rugby team.
In his year of retirement, ITV made him part of their core team for the 2015 RWC and the NatWest Six Nations, and Ugo’s reputation as a broadcaster has continued to grow, with his BBC Podcast ‘Rugby Union Weekly’ regularly topping the Podcast charts as one of the most listened to Sports podcasts on iTunes.
Ugo also has a weekly column in The Sun, and is a brand ambassador of Adidas and Old Mutual Wealth.
Away from the screen Ugo is a patron of Rugby’s Lift The Weight campaign, an initiative that focuses on raising awareness around men’s mental health.
