Tania Kindersley

Tania Kindersley grew up in a racing stable in the Lambourn valley. She read history at Oxford, and, after a variety of unsatisfactory jobs, began writing full time in her early twenties. She has written six novels. Her latest work of non-fiction, Backwards in High Heels, was written with Sarah Vine, and spent three weeks on the Sunday Times bestseller list. She makes occasional forays into journalism, and blogs for The Lady, and in her own right at

After fifteen years in London, she moved to the north-east of Scotland, where she embraced the rural life of dogs, pigs, and, most lately, a chestnut thoroughbred mare.

Her interests include politics, horses, literature, the making of soup, the planting of trees, the countryside, and who is going to win the 3.30 at Fontwell.
