Paddy McGuinness stars in new ITV comedy Delivery Man

Paddy McGuinness is set to to star in new ITV comedy the Delivery Man that starts tonight at 9:30 on ITV

The new 6-part series focuses on Matthew, a policeman who becomes disillusioned with his job so quits to becomes a male midwife on a busy maternity ward.

Paddy plays the role of Ian, a former police buddy, who gets suspended from the force and lands a job in hospital security.

The team have to contend with teenage parents, a ‘double dad’ who has two partners in labour, a pregnant prisoner on release, an incognito celebrity, a major theft from the drugs cupboard and an abandoned baby.

Written by Green Wing’s Robert Harley and James Henry, the series is produced and directed by Green Wing’s creator Victoria Pile.

It marks a return to comedy acting for Paddy, who rose to fame alongside Peter Kay in Channel 4′s Phoenix Nights and who recently reprised that role for 16 live shows in Manchester that raised over £5 million for Comic Relief.
