My focus areas are literary and upmarket fiction, and narrative and serious non-fiction. I'm particularly keen to hear from writers whose voices the publishing industry has often overlooked, and above all else am looking for quality writing. In fiction, I’m interested in evocative, inventive, character-driven stories, and am frequently drawn to the emotional heart of the work. If your novel is on the upmarket/literary end of genre fiction, namely speculative/dystopian and historical, or traverses genre boundaries, I’d like to take a look. Do think of me for writing in translation, and I’m selectively considering short story collections. In non-fiction, I’m looking for work that is purposeful, fresh, and insightful, writing that speaks to and of the structures that govern our lives but with great specificity. In particular I’m open for works of history, politics, food writing, cultural criticism, memoir and biography, and select essay collections.
