Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

Role Summary:
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, we are seeking a detail-oriented and logical FP&A Analyst to join our finance team. The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for assisting with financial forecasting, budgeting, analysis and reporting packs for the YMU Group and across the various divisions to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong excel and financial modelling skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Develop and maintain financial models for the YMU Group.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, return on investment and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional finance and business teams to gather relevant information for financial analysis.
- Support the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis and management reporting and key reporting packs.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making withing finance and the wider business, under the guidance of the Head of FP&A and the Group CFO.
- Continuously improve commercial financial processes, reporting and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, or consolidation roles.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Airtable (desirable – not required)
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A team player with a collaborative style
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
