Location: Great Portland Street – 3 days per week in the office

The business partners with some of the most recognised names in entertainment and sport, delivering commercial, strategic and financial excellence across a diverse and fast-moving portfolio. Our clients include athletes, authors, digital influencers, media rights holders, musicians and producers. It has c.150 employees and a turnover of approximately between £30M-£35M.

Role Summary:

YMU is seeking a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead and evolve its FP&A function. This is a senior, high-impact role that will act as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership team, providing insight, rigour and commercial challenge across the group. The role will oversee budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning and performance reporting across multiple business lines, including sports, music, television and IP-driven revenues, in a complex, deal-led environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to the CFO and senior leadership team, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Lead financial modelling and scenario planning for new deals, talent contracts, IP exploitation, acquisitions and growth initiatives.
  • Provide commercial insight into revenue mix, margin performance and profitability across divisions.

Financial Planning & Performance

  • Own the annual budget, rolling forecast and long-range planning processes across the group.
  • Develop clear, insightful management reporting, KPIs and dashboards for executive and board-level review on a variety of platforms and report formats.
  • Analyse performance variances, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.

Business Partnering

  • Partner closely with divisional heads and the management accountants across entertainment, sports, music, and digital, understanding the commercial drivers of each area.
  • Support negotiations and deal structures with robust financial analysis and sensitivity modelling.
  • Embed financial discipline while enabling creative and commercial ambition.

Team & Function Development

  • Lead, mentor and develop the FP&A team, building a best-in-class planning and analytics capability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, systems, processes and data quality.
  • Work closely with GFC, Finance Operations, Accounting and Systems teams to ensure consistency and integrity of financial data.

Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Support board papers, investor materials and strategic presentations.
  • Support CFO and Senior Leadership team with M&A and any transactions
  • Contribute to the broader finance leadership agenda, including systems transformation and process automation.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • 8+ years post-qualified experience (PQE).
  • Significant FP&A leadership experience within media, entertainment or talent-led businesses.
  • Proven exposure to sports, music, television and IP-based revenue models.
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical skills. Advanced excel skills
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, deal-driven, entrepreneurial environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Strong systems experience, ERPs and MIS systems
  • Experience with CRM systems like AirTable
  • Experience in talent management, agencies, rights holders or production companies.
  • Exposure to complex contract structures, royalty-based income and revenue share models.
  • Experience supporting M&A, investment cases or international expansion.
