Junior Management Accountant
Reporting to: Senior Management Accountant

About the position:
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, the Junior Management Accountant will have responsibility for the month end close reporting for the DSM and Troika divisions here at YMU. The Junior Management Accountant will have some accountancy experience, a good communicator, and a self-starter who can initiate and manage work autonomously. This role will be based in the London Office 3-4 days a week.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for the DSM and Troika divisions including prepayments, accruals, FX revaluations, balance sheet reconciliations under the supervision of the Senior Management Accountant
- There is opportunity to take on the responsibility of further divisions after the incumbent is familiar with the close process
- Business partner with Heads of each division providing them with regular finance reports including variance analysis; providing support to the divisions on any finance related queries
- Support in the preparation of budgets and regular reforecasts of the UK divisions working closely with the divisional heads and Senior Management Accountant
- Support monitoring revenue streams and income, reviewing deal trackers and reconciling to invoices raised through Paprika & Exchequer
- Help prepare financials to be presented to the wider business and senior business stakeholders
- Preparation of fortnightly 16-week cashflow forecasts for the UK divisions with support from the Senior Management Accountant
- Assist in preparation of Board reports in line with agreed timescales
- Preparing complete documentation as required by the auditors for year-end close
- Reviewing creditors & approving payments runs on a fortnightly basis
- Other ad hoc work and projects as necessary to help the Senior Management Accountant improve and automate finance processes
Essential Skills and Experience
- Accountancy Qualification: at least 2-3 years of industry experience, at least AAT Level 2 qualified
- Experience of reporting under tight deadlines & creating management accounts
- Experience in dealing with non-finance stakeholders
- Strong excel knowledge
- High level numeracy and literacy skills
High level attention to detail
