Tyler signed his first professional contract with New York Red Bulls at age 16 in 2015. In 2018, he signed with RB Leipzig of the German Bundesliga and scored the game winner as they advanced to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in club history and later won the DFB Pokal.
Tyler transferred to Leeds United of the English Premier League in 2022 and subsequently to AFC Bournemouth in 2023 where he is currently based.
