About the Position

You will be working within the Happy Place Division at YMU Group. Happy Place is curated by one of the UK’s popular mainstream faces in mental and physical wellness, Fearne Cotton, who has built a brand and a community that creates happiness and joy in the everyday. Spanning podcast, sell our festivals, social content franchises, best-selling books, ecommerce, app, charity ventures and more.

The role is responsible for proactively securing and account managing exhibitors and brand sponsors for YMU’s rapidly growing Fearne Cotton’s 4 day Happy Place Festival (listed by Forbes as one of the top events to attend this year) bringing together live talks, workshops, meditation, yoga, fitness classes to arts and crafts, massages, kids activities, food, drink and a large selection of planet friendly health, wellbeing brands and more.  All of which promote being kinder to yourself as well as the planet and supporting your mental and physical wellbeing.

We are looking for a candidate to join the team with a go-getter personality and a commercial mindset and previous success in a relationship building and sales role. As Happy Place grows as a brand, your responsibilities will diversify and you will be supporting the team to project manage brand partnerships and upselling the Happy Place App and new Happy Place ecommerce site opportunities.

The candidate will be an excellent communicator and a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. They have proven success of building strong relationships quickly and able to multi-task and prioritize.

Reports to: Senior Partnerships Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • For each event- proactively identify new business opportunities and conduct sales calls and meetings to generate and close new business and support on exceeding commercial targets
  • Proactively account manage and build relationships with exhibitors and sponsors/partners face to face, via email and video calls.
  • Support on the day-to-day management of new and existing exhibitors and sponsors through the event cycle to build trust and rapport and ensure they have all the support they need.
  • Respond to exhibitor and sponsor enquires becoming a key point of contact ensuring partnership deliverables are achieved.
  • Working closely with the Operations, Legal, Marketing team, overseeing floorplans adjustments for exhibitors and sponsors, sign offs for sponsor marketing assets, signage approval, activation, and logistic support
  • Support with the delivery of the events, including onsite exhibitor enquires, relationship management and rebook.
  • Report to management regularly and support on various tasks on hand
  • Track all leads, warm conversations and deal pipeline in real time on our group CRM system.
  • Build trusting relationships that return to maximise repeat as well as new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with the IP division to support with account management, servicing brand sponsors/partners. Including upselling the App and new ecommerce site to festival partners.
  • Work with the team to help shape compelling sales decks, and sales presentations to take to market, sharing event industry trends, stats, and case studies.
  • Update the team in the weekly meeting on areas of opportunity, new relationships, market feedback and opportunities to unlock wider partnerships.

 Experience & Capabilities:

  • Over 2 years’ experience in selling stands and sponsorship and securing partners for live event properties including but not limited to exhibitions and delivering against revenue targets.
  • Proven account management abilities supporting clients across the event cycle from beginning to end
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, communication, organization and presentation skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships quickly with external contacts, colleagues and clients.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and commercially minded with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong pipeline management, written and numeracy skills.
  • Team player, who thrives off working within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong work ethic, passionate, energetic, solution orientated, proactive and has the ability to multi task.
  • Able to plan work on his/her/their own initiative and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and speed in delivery
  • In addition to the usual hours, willingness to take calls and respond to emails outside of office hours at key times.
