Shaunagh Brown & Ugo Monye feature in documentary No Woman No Try

Elite female rugby players often face their biggest challenges off the pitch.

No Woman No Try is a brilliant documentary that explores gender inequality through the lens of rugby, providing insight into the lives of female rugby players and the day to day challenges they face and overcome to excel in their sport.

This honest documentary features Shaunagh Brown and Ugo Monye as they look at the state of play of women’s rugby and the things women must overcome to play at the highest level.

The documentary is directed by Richmond player Victoria Rush, who also stars in it, and features YMU rugby star Shaunagh Brown. YMU client Ugo Monye also appears to speak of the importance of male allyship in sport.

“It’s a valuable message to have on a platform like Amazon for those young players feeling insecure. It is emboldening to hear a player saying it’s what you do with your body that matters rather than how it looks; it’s a much-needed and hugely inspirational message to put across.”
– Rugby World

“No Woman No Try brings exactly the brand of positive media attention that women’s rugby needs to continue its growth. It shines a light on endearing personalities.”
– Mirror Online

The first, exclusive screening was released on the 25th March 2022 and is available worldwide on Amazon Prime Sports
